Up to £200,000 funded support for automotive innovators in 2025
This pilot programme offers packages of support from HVM Catapult centres for UK companies on the start-up to scale-up journey. This pilot will run from March to September 2025.

Our objective
HVM Catapult is committed to helping automotive companies transitioning to zero carbon propulsion to scale-up in the UK, anchoring manufacturing supply chains for the next generation.
Selection process
We will select at least two companies for funded support, based on:
- Alignment with the program scope
- Eligibility criteria
- Potential impact, assessed via a business case in the application
- Due diligence, reviewed through application questions
The selection will be made by a committee with automotive industry experts.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for support, you must:
- Be a company on the start-up to scale-up journey, ready to plan for a pilot, demo, or full-scale plant (including lines or factories)
- Be preparing to raise finance or secure board approval for capital investment
- Develop products for the value chain in:
- Road, off-highway, or motorsport vehicles with low-carbon propulsion (battery electric, plug-in hybrid, hydrogen electric, or hydrogen combustion)
- Recharging or refuelling systems
- Have senior management buy-in and commitment to the project
- Be able to meet the support timeline
- Be willing to share your scale-up journey and the support received
- Be a UK registered business
You may also engage a potential customer in an advisory role.
Key dates
The pilot will run from March to September 2025

We will launch by early March, complete the package of support for you over the spring summer period of 2025. Timelines will be developed with you during the scoping phase.
A case study will be published by late summer following completion of the support package.
