Dr Peter Thompson has been the Chief Executive of the National Physical Laboratory, the UK’s National Metrology Institute, since 2015. He was previously strategic advisor to the Ministry of Defence’s Chief Scientific Adviser, Deputy Chief Executive of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, and Head of the Counter Terrorism, Science and Technology Centre.
