Chief Operating Officer, High Value Manufacturing Catapult
Dr Lynne O’Hare is Chief Operating Officer at the HVM Catapult, where she turns strategic ambition into operational delivery across one of the UK’s most significant advanced manufacturing innovation networks.
Lynne brings 20+ years’ experience across engineering, research and innovation, with senior leadership roles spanning the public, private and academic sectors. She is recognised for applying systems thinking to complex challenges and building collaborative, high-performing teams.
Previously Lynne was Chief Portfolio Officer for HVM Catapult, overseeing programmes and partnerships across its centres and aligning delivery planning, investment and performance management to support stronger cross-centre collaboration.
Until 2023, she was Chief Commercial Officer at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, part of the University of Strathclyde, where she helped establish NMIS as a national capability by leading commercial strategy, business development, partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
Lynne holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. She leads by creating clarity, building trust and bringing people together around shared purpose – turning complex challenges into focused action and ambitious ideas into real-world impact.
