The company is on track to secure £2.5m in investment.
NMIS worked with Nami Surgical, a spin-out from the University of Glasgow that develops miniaturised ultrasonic scalpels for robotic assisted surgery, to progress its prototype to the next technology readiness level.
Nami Surgical received an Innovate UK grant to enlist the support of NMIS, which used its expertise to develop a bespoke test rig that allowed engineers to conduct a vessel sealing burst pressure test (VSBPT).
The results have been instrumental in the development of the Nami Surgical business, with the company on track to secure £2.5m in investment.
