The Henry Royce Institute announced the appointment of four independent Non-Executive Directors, including High Value Manufacturing Catapult CEO, Dick Elsy.
The £235m Henry Royce Institute is the UK’s national Institute for advanced materials research and innovation. The Institute will allow the UK to grow its world-leading research and innovation base in advanced-materials science, which is fundamental to all industrial sectors and the national economy. It is also seen as a crucial element of the Government’s Northern Powerhouse initiative, an attempt to boost economic growth in the North og England and balance the UK economy.
The Royce will see more than 800 researchers across a number of UK universities and research centres working in collaboration, as well as with commercial partners to create a significant impact for the UK economy.
