Non-Executive Director

Carl Ennis is an engineer with more than 40 years’ experience in the energy and industry markets.
 
During almost 30 years with Siemens, he held prominent management positions across the business in the UK and overseas including China, ultimately serving as the CEO of Siemens UK for over six years concluding in 2026. He also represented the voice of industry on a number of government panels and industry bodies.
 
Having started his career as a craft apprentice, he is an advocate of the skills and diversity agendas, recognising the need for new and diverse thinking in an ever-changing world and is currently a trustee at Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Trust.
Carl graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University, is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology. He has also received honorary Doctorates from both Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of East London.
