Judith Hackitt CBE appointed Non-Executive Director

The High Value Manufacturing Catapult, which stimulates and supports the commercial application of new technologies through the development of innovative manufacturing processes, has appointed Judith Hackitt CBE as non-Executive Director to its Supervisory Board.

We are delighted to welcome Judith Hackitt CBE as non-Executive Director to our Supervisory Board.

The High Value Manufacturing Catapult, which stimulates and supports the commercial application of new technologies through the development of innovative manufacturing processes, has appointed Judith Hackitt CBE as non-Executive Director to its Supervisory Board.

Judith is the Chair of the Health and Safety Executive, which is responsible for all UK policy on workplace health and safety regulation, and is President of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. She combines a strong commercial, science and engineering background with a thorough understanding of the political landscape in the UK as well as in Europe. She has established a national and international reputation as a leader and a very strong communicator, influencer and advocate. Judith has an impressive track record of achieving results in industry and in the public sector was awarded a CBE in 2006 for services to Health and Safety.

Judith Hackitt CBE, said: “I am delighted to have been selected to work with the board and the team at the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.
Supporting large industrial players, as well as smaller companies, to bring new technologies to market and achieve manufacturing success, is fundamentally important to the UK economy. We need to build on our significant strengths in innovation, technology and manufacturing and the Catapult Programme is key to making that happen.”

Judith Hackitt continued: “I hope to use my background in a range of industry sectors, as well as my experience of working with the public sector in this country and in Europe, to add real value to the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. The Catapult is making tremendous tangible progress and I am excited to contribute to its agenda.”
