HVM Catapult is recruiting four new Non-Executive Directors

The High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult is the catalyst for the future growth and success of manufacturing in the UK – a network of Technology and Innovation Centres helping business transform ideas into new products and representing a strategic long-term investment in the UK’s innovation capability.

Our Mission is to deliver economic growth by enabling UK manufacturers to achieve significant improvements in their performance and productivity.

As a result of existing board members reaching the end of their term, we are now seeking to appoint four non-executive directors to join the Board. A new Chairperson will also subsequently be appointed from interested existing and new non-executive directors.

The Role

We are looking for dedicated and passionate individuals who can help to shape the future of the HVM Catapult, provide effective governance of its Delivery Plan and command the respect of senior stakeholders across business, Government and academia.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of successful leadership and governance within a major organisation of similar complexity.
  • A proven understanding and experience of strategic and financial planning within an innovative organisation.
  • A track record of engagement in successful partnerships, building productive working relationships with a variety of industry partners, government, Universities, public agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Commercial and political know-how exercised at a significant leadership level.
  • A commitment to developing robust and efficient governance mechanisms.
  • Evidence of significant personal achievements in driving and delivering change and improvements in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience of effective communication, advising and influencing others.

We are particularly looking for those who have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Overseeing a small, rapidly growing, and dynamic manufacturing business where technology innovation is crucial
  • A top management position in a high-profile sector-related industry, particularly aerospace, automotive, chemicals, construction & infrastructure, defence, energy and food & drink
  • A government or political background with manufacturing innovation focus / experience
  • A leading academic with extensive manufacturing experience and networks

Remuneration and Time commitment

Approximately 1 day per month which includes attendance at 6 Board meetings held at various locations across the UK. Remuneration will be £15,000 per year.
