Analysis for Innovators (A4I) is Innovate UK’s new funding programme that targets competitiveness and productivity head on, by offering cutting-edge R&D, expertise and facilities to UK companies that want to solve an analysis or measurement problem from within their existing business. Innovate UK expect the programme to particularly appeal to manufacturing companies, especially those involved in complex supply chains, but companies applying may be from any sector.
Innovate UK have partnered up with four companies for this programme- NPL, STFC, NEL & LGC- who each run some of the most advanced cutting-edge facilities and technologies available here in the UK. They will be making these available to the successful applicants to A4I to do R&D to solve analysis and measurement problems.
A4I is a very different approach and means that a very different application process will be necessary; it will be run as a two-stage scheme and at the first stage, Innovate UK are not requiring you to describe the project that you want to do, but instead describe the problem, its nature, any techniques you have already tried and the value to your business of solving it.
Analysis for Innovators opens in January 2017, however Innovate UK and KTN are running a series of roadshow events around the UK in the two months leading up to Christmas, to explain the programme and how it differs from other funding competitions, in terms of its scope, the application process and schedule.
The dates of the regional events are:
10th November- Glasgow
15th November- Cardiff
24th November- Coventry
28th November- Belfast
1st December- Darlington
6th December- London
9th December- Oxford
