CBI highlights success of HVM Catapult

The CBI response to the Hauser review of Catapult centres notes that the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the best established of the seven centres, is developing well in its mission of providing services valued by business in support of innovation

The CBI is the UK’s leading business organisation, speaking for some 190,000 businesses that together employ around a third of the private sector workforce. With offices across the UK as well as representations in Brussels, Washington, Bejing and Delhi the CBI communicates the British business voice around the world.

The CBI response to the Hauser review of Catapult argues that:

  • The High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the best established of the seven centres, is developing well in its mission of providing services valued by business in support of innovation.
  • Catapult centres are a significant step in the right direction but noted that there is scope for developing more coherence across the innovation landscape.
  • Catapults need long-term core funding to fulfil their mission
