The new digital technologies becoming available as part of what is being called “the Fourth Industrial Revolution” will have a transformative effect on the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing industry. By adopting these technologies, manufacturing companies can dramatically improve competitiveness and connect into new supply chains. However, coverage of the subject has so far tended to focus on the specific technologies, which can make it difficult for companies to recognise the business benefit.

This event will help companies to look beyond the hype surrounding Industry 4.0, raising awareness of the benefits of digital manufacturing technologies and highlighting the wide range of support resources available to companies in Scotland.

This event is being organised by the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) and the Innovation Centre for Sensor and Imaging Systems (CENSIS) on behalf of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult and the I4MS (ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs) initiative, with support from Technology Scotland.
