Investigating new manufacturing and assembly processes for automotive traction electric machines

The High Volume Electric Machine Supply from the UK (HVEMS-UK) is a collaborative project aiming to provide Jaguar Land Rover and supply chain partners with the expertise to compete in the rapidly-growing hybrid and hvemselectric vehicles market. The project is creating an experimental “make-like-production” facility in which consortium members will jointly investigate manufacturing and assembly methods suitable for possible future use. WMG is a major player in the HVEMS consortium and is providing expert knowledge, carrying out design studies and making use of its high-specification prototyping and metrology facilities to support development and monitoring of manufacturing experiments.
